My name is Alex Velte and I love playing guitar. I find so much joy in teaching others to hone in their guitar skills, particularly in the capacity of worship music. The thing about worship guitar in the Contemporary Christian Music setting is that it's so much more than just plugging in and playing chords. In fact, I believe that the guitar has a place in worship music to not only support, but lead. I've been lead to worship by incredibly written, well-played instrumentation before and I don't think that's some happy accident.

My hope is that when guitarists hit the stage on Sunday morning, they can genuinely enjoy playing their instrument to the fullest and love worshipping and leading. It shouldn't feel daunting to get up and play. Rather, it should feel like a joy and your parts should feel like an expression, not a burden.
